Oscar's Party Inspiration

My husband and I are pretty big movie people. Currently we're trying to watch all of the movies that have won "best picture." This Sunday we will host our 2nd Annual Oscar's Party, and ya'll I am such an awful hostess. I had adorable Oscar Party invitations all addressed and ready to go last week, but I never got around to mailing them. Now, the Academy Awards are less than a week away and I must resort to last minute phone calls to all my guests (if you are one of my guests and are reading this, I'm calling you today... I promise!)

I am not ashamed to say that I am getting a lot of party inspiration from Twig and Thistle's post. I love that she has free printables so that anyone can host their own party! I will definitely be using her template for making a stand-up Oscar statuette.

This week I'll be designing ballots so that everyone can pick who they think should win. At the end of the night, we'll tally up who had the most right and the winner will get a special prize.

And of course, I've been daydreaming about food for this party constantly. My plan as of now is to have dishes that represent the movies nominated for best picture. With that theme in mind, the possibilities are endless as to what you can serve! No matter what, there will definitely be cupcakes (my favorite!) Here is my menu for Sunday, which of course is subject to change...
