Oscar Party Recap

So the Oscar's were last night, did you watch them? The Academy Awards are like MY Super Bowl. I'm in love with the glamour and the history of it. We hosted our 2nd Annual Oscar's Viewing party at our home and had a really fun night. It's hard not to have a fun night when you combine good food, good friends, and good entertainment! I already posted about some of my Oscar Party plans, so now it's time for you to see how everything turned out!

Here's a view of our FANTASTIC spread. A huge shout-out to my husband who helped me out SO MUCH in the kitchen preparing all this delicious food.

All of the food I served was themed after the movies nominated for Best Picture. Chocolate covered "tuxedo" Oreos for The Artist, New York style pizza rolls for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Vegetable Tray for War Horse, Fried Chicken bites for The Help, Golden dream cupcakes for Midnight in Paris, Fruit Tray for The Descendants, Chex Mix (Nuts and Bolts) for Hugo, Ballpark Pretzel Bites for Moneyball, and Bottled Water for The Tree of Life

The color palette was black & white and gold. I sprinkled gold star confetti over the table. Doesn't it look festive and pretty?

This was the where I served drinks and also served as a pretty backdrop. I had the menu prominently displayed so the guests would get the themed foods. I am also in love with the fun movie-themed props that I found for really cheap at Party City.

Close-up of the menu that I whipped up pretty quickly in Power Point.

More confetti! You can never have TOO much gold confetti, can you?

The clapboard was my favorite!

So the evening progressed wonderfully and everyone had a great time watching the Oscar's. We made a game out of it, and guessed the winners on our ballots (that I DIY'd here). It got really fun when the score was neck and neck between a few people, and the good-natured trash-talking that commenced was hilarious.

(See my DIY of this winner's prize here.)

Our friend Drew, however, came out as the victor! Congrats, Drew!

And congratulations to ALL the winners at the Oscar's this year! We saw best picture winner "The Artist" and Mr. N and I LOVED it. It's definitely a winner in our book (and one that we have to purchase and add to our "best picture" collection!) Speaking of "The Artist," doesn't Best Actor Jean Dujardin remind you of old school Hollywood actors? Those eyebrows make me think of Clark Gable.

Did you enjoy the Oscar's this year?
